Over the past year, WPNT Ltd.’s Steve Johnson has played mentor to a pair of Evanston Township High School students. One of them graduated this summer. Supporting Inner City Youth

WPNT Ltd. senior consultant Steve Johnson shared his sports marketing and communications expertise with Catalyst Charter Schools. Steve spent the afternoon coaching six of the high school football players there in advance of their college recruitment interviews. Steve provided part of WPNT Ltd.'s proven model, and discussed the importance of translating these kinds of skills off the playing field as well. Said one of the students, "This was amazing. I've never had anything like this before. I feel much more confident about talking with recruiters."

Race Against Hate

The race, now in its 17th  year was named in honor of Ricky Birdsong, the first African American basketball coach at Northwestern University.  He was gunned down 17 years ago in front of his home by a white supremacist as part of a hate crime killing spree.
